Conference 2020 Presenter- Jana Kirchner

Jana Kirchner, PhD, is an educator with 29 years of experience in the field of education. She began her career as a Social Studies and English Language Arts teacher at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green, KY. She also worked as a social studies/literacy consultant at Green River Regional Educational Cooperative (GRREC), where she coordinated three federal Teaching American History grants, provided professional development to schools, and served as an instructional coach in elementary, middle, and high schools. In addition to working in public schools, Jana also has experience in higher education. She was an Assistant Professor in the School of Teacher Education at Western Kentucky University and helped design and implement a clinical teacher preparation program. Jana has also worked with ACT Quality Core and Social Studies School Service as a professional development facilitator with teachers and schools throughout the U.S.  Most recently, she was the Instructional Supervisor for Simpson County Schools in Franklin, KY and worked as a part of a district Teaching and Learning team on assessment, teaching strategies, gifted programs, professional development, and teacher coaching. She is excited about continuing to use these experiences to work with teachers, schools, and school districts as a professional development provider and/or instructional coach.
