KATHIE WRIGHTSON has worked in gifted education for 27 years. She currently teaches full-time for Shelby County High School as a Gifted & Talented Resource Specialist. She is also an instructor for Kentucky Community and Technical College system, teaching several composition and creative writing courses. Wrightson has lobbied her district to improve and expand dual credit offerings, and this year, Shelby County has over 250 students enrolled in some form of dual credit. She is the 2016 recipient of the Micheal Caudill Educator Award.
