We are pleased that you will be participating in the Twenty-Sixth Annual Symposium on Kentucky’s Children Who Are Gifted and Talented October 13-14 at Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill. The symposium is hosted by The Kentucky Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education, the Kentucky Association for Gifted Education (KAGE), and The Center for Gifted Studies, WKU. The symposium is for community leaders, governmental leaders and other decision makers interested in gifted children.

The goals of the symposium are:
To examine current research and practice on gifted children and their achievement,
To discuss and recommend appropriate learning opportunities for Kentucky’s gifted children to achieve excellence,
To discuss economic and policy considerations for educating advanced young people in the Commonwealth, and
To develop policy guidelines to ensure optimum talent development of Kentucky’s gifted children.
The Symposium will be held at Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill. Located 25 miles southwest of Lexington and 7 miles east of Harrodsburg on U.S. 68, Shaker Village is in the Eastern Time Zone.
