The deadline for nominations for Service & Advocacy, and KAGE Distinguished Student for 2020-2021 has past, and nominations are no longer being accepted. Watch for the announcement of recipients during the KAGE Conference 2021 February 23-24, 2021.
The KAGE Distinguished Student for 2020-2021 is Prisha Hedau. Prisha is the daughter of Rejandra and Raj Hedau, and is a student at Lowe Elementary in Jefferson County Public Schools. In her letter of nomination, Prisha’s G/T teacher Kristi Hayes wrote, “Prisha has a number of strengths, excluding her academic achievements, she has true leadership qualities. She also is very diversified in that she loves dance, technology, math, and is ranked nationally as a chess player. Prisha is also a very fast learner. When we begin a new unit with GT, she is the one student that will independently research to learn more before our next meeting.
I am very proud of the accomplishments Prisha has completed within the past year and currently. Not only has she become a published author but is on her way to becoming an activist to fight for helping people in need. With her book sales, she has been able to donate/serve 1,050 meals to Dare To Care in Jefferson County for Thanksgiving meals….and she will continue this contribution to her community. Her ability to provide hope and positivity during this year of chaos is truly commendable.”
