KAGE Conference 2020 FAQ

Q: Where will the conference take place?
A: KAGE Conference 2020 will take place at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort, 1800 Newtown Pike, Lexington, KY 40511 (phone 859.231.5100).

Q: What is the cost of the conference?
A: KAGE member cost: $260 for both days/$145 Monday or Tuesday only
New or renewing member: $290 for both days/$175 Monday or Tuesday only

Q: How will I know if I am registered?
All confirmed attendees will receive a registration confirmation email. If you have not received an email within two-three days of registering online, please contact the KAGE office (kage@wku.edu, 270.745.4301). 

Q: How do I know if I am a current KAGE member?
A: Contact the KAGE office if you have any questions about your membership (kage@wku.edu, 270.745.4301). You can look at your last KAGE newsletter, above the mailing address is a line that has when your KAGE membership expires. 

Q: What are the payment options?
A: You may pay by credit card via PayPal, by purchase order, or by check. 

Q: What meals are included?
A: The will be a continental breakfast available each morning. Lunch on Monday is a plated lunch and Tuesday is a boxed lunch.  Let the KAGE office know if you have any dietary or other restrictions.

Q: What are pre-registered/ticketed sessions?
A: The Monday half-day sessions are pre-selected. You will choose which morning and afternoon session you would like to attend when you register. Sessions will fill early so be sure to select a first and second choice for both morning and afternoon on Monday. Tuesday sessions are first-come first-served for seating. The keynote presentation in the morning each day is open to all registered attendees.

Q: How do I know which sessions are best for me on Monday?
A: Think about your interests and needs for working with gifted students and well as the age level(s) with whom you work. Read the descriptions and see which ones fit the best. 

Q: Is walk-in registration available?
A: Yes, there will be walk-in registration. The registration desk opens at 7:00 a.m. both days.

Q: What if I want to bring several teachers /educators from my district? Can we get a break in registration costs?

A:  Yes, if you have 10 or more who wish to come. The request is handled on an individual basis. Email or call the KAGE office with your request. (kage@wku.edu, 270.745.4301)

Q: What time does conference start and end each day? 
A: Sunday, KAGE Rock Around the Tables 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Monday: (registration desk opens 7:00 a.m.) Sessions 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; KAGE Birthday Bash, 8:00 – 9:00 pm 
Tuesday: (registration desk opens 7:00 a.m.) 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Q: Is there a special KAGE Conference rate at the Marriott Griffin Gate?
A: Yes, there is a KAGE Conference rate of $132.00 (plus tax) for a single or a double here. The cut-off date for the Conference Rate is February 10, 2020.  Ask specifically for the KAGE 2020 room block if you call (800.228.9290). If you have difficulty booking a room, please contact the KAGE office. 

Q: Is there a charge to park?
A: There is no charge to park at the Marriott Griffin Gate for the KAGE Conference. There is ample parking.
